Paralives Reveals Town Events: Yoga, Market, Astronomy Club, and Treasure Hunts — Here's How They Work

With just two months left until early access, the Paralives developers continue to share new details about the game. In a fresh Patreon post, the team — led by community manager Rina and artist Chloé — showcased the town events that will be available from launch. Outdoor yoga, a flea market with unique items, an astronomy club, and a weekly treasure hunt are all designed to address the biggest complaint from playtesters: the town felt empty, and there wasn't enough to do.

Previously, we covered how the Paramaker character creator works, as well as the modding tools and the dynamic music system that changes based on emotions.

How Town Events Came to Be

According to the developers, one of the most frequent complaints from playtesters and viewers of the public stream back in November 2025 was that the town looked empty and lacked activities. In response, the team of artists and programmers added events that cycle throughout the week.

All events are available from the very start of the game and require no special setup. They bring life to the world of Paralives and give players a reason to take their characters outside.

Yoga in the Park (Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday)

One of the calmest and most relaxing events. Characters can practice yoga outdoors — in a spot chosen primarily for technical reasons. The area needed to be large enough and have flat terrain to ensure animations work properly.

Why it's worth attending: Yoga not only lifts your Para's mood but also effectively levels up the Fitness skill. If a character joins a group class, they learn significantly faster than when practicing alone at home.

Weekend Market (Sunday)

The main event of the weekend. The market doesn't just offer standard goods from the town's shops — the developers have added unique stalls that will make players want to return every Sunday.

What awaits players at the market:

Oddities shop — eccentric, creative decor items you won't find in regular stores.

Painter — a character torn between their desire to draw anime art and the need to create "commercially viable" pieces. Players can purchase unique paintings from them.

The goods at the market change every week, and the developers hope players will enjoy coming back again and again to see what's new.

"We had a lot of fun creating the items on sale. We hope players will have fun visiting the Sunday Market every week and seeing what's on offer," says Chloé.

Astronomy Club (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday)

For those who prefer looking at the sky rather than at their feet. Three times a week, characters can gather together and stargaze. This isn't just entertainment — the activity boosts the Science skill.

But there's also a mystery. The event description mentions that the local newspaper is reporting some unusual phenomenon happening above the town. What is it? A black hole? A comet? Or, as Chloé joked, something that might one day "drop cars and pets into the world when the corresponding updates roll out"? For now, it remains a puzzle for players to solve on their own.

Treasure Hunt (Thursday)

The most interactive — and potentially most profitable — event. Every Thursday, bright red treasure chests are scattered across town. They differ from regular collectible items: you can't donate them to a museum, but you can use them to decorate your home or sell them for profit.

What you can find: around 20 different Build Mode items of varying value — from a free luxurious oven to a Miki figure.

Where to look: the chests are hidden in various corners of the town — near plazas, castle walls, and in alleyways. Chloé admits she tried not to be too cruel with the hiding spots, but the testing team still had a hard time finding them — partly because a bug sometimes caused the chests not to spawn at all, leaving the developers searching empty-handed.

If you're lucky, you might find a very valuable item — either to decorate your home or to sell for a nice profit.

Town events are more than just a way to keep characters entertained. They address a specific problem that players themselves identified during testing: the world felt empty and non‑interactive. Now, Parafolk have a reason to leave the house on a schedule, meet other residents, and earn unique rewards.

What's especially interesting is that the developers didn't just add events for the sake of adding events — they thought through the mechanics. Market goods rotate weekly, treasure chests are hidden all around town, and group activities provide skill‑learning bonuses. All of this creates the feeling of a living, breathing world.
