Paralives Enters Early Access: Full Breakdown of Features, Price, and Future Plans
The creators of indie life simulator Paralives have officially announced that their "baby" has gone gold – meaning the upcoming early access build is now final. The release is set for May 25, 2026. No more delays.
To celebrate, the developers published an updated roadmap clearly outlining what players will get "right out of the box" on May 25, and what will be added through free updates during early access. They also cleared up several important myths about the simulator's future.
Earlier, we covered how Paralives' Paramaker works and what makes it different from The Sims' CAS, as well as dynamic music and new animations.
Long‑Awaited Date and Price
Early access begins on May 25, 2026, exclusively on PC and Mac via Steam. Console versions (and mobile/tablet versions) have not been announced.
The early access price will be $39.99 USD, roughly equivalent to the cost of a new AAA title. Developers confirmed they will use Steam's regional pricing for most countries. They are also closely monitoring cases of unfair price inflation in certain regions, such as Poland.
An important detail: the price will gradually increase as more content is added, eventually reaching full price by version 1.0. But even more importantly, the developers made a rock‑solid promise:
"The game will never have paid DLC – only free updates."
This news immediately generated a wave of positive reactions in the community, especially against the backdrop of recent controversies over paid content in other life sims.
What Will Be in the Game on May 25
On early access launch day, players will receive a solid "foundation" for a life simulator, enough to build engaging stories.
Live Mode
- Open world town – no loading screens when moving around.
- Work (rabbit holes) & career progression.
- Full personality simulation: traits, emotions, needs, wants, skills.
- Relationships, aging, death, and having children.
- Character autonomy – Parafolk will live their own lives even when you're not watching.
- Group interactions.
- Economy and hazards: shops, restaurants, museums, bills, house fires.
Build Mode
- Color wheel for everything – customize every detail.
- Flexible wall placement tools: walls can be placed at any angle and even curved (optional grid).
- Split‑level platforms and building multiple floors.
- Moving existing walls.
- Object resizing.
- Full stairs and roof placement.
Paramaker

- Genetics system.
Also on day one, modding tools will be available – and this isn't just talk, detailed guides have already been released.
What Will Be Added as Free Updates During Early Access
The developers have laid out an ambitious plan that rivals several large expansions.
Live Mode
- Weather & seasons
- Calendar & family tree
- Dogs, cats & horses
- Cars, bikes, boats & houseboats
- Swimming
- Story progression for NPCs
- Gardening & fishing
- Organizing social events (parties, weddings)
Build Mode
- Advanced roof tools
- Advanced stairs tools
- Placing windows & doors on curved walls
- Basement tools
- Pools
- More furniture & objects
Paramaker
- Creating pets
- Editing Para genetics with advanced tools
- More clothing, hairstyles, & accessories
The developers promise that all these features will be added during early access, which is expected to last about two years, eventually leading to the full 1.0 release.
Paralives seems to be entering early access in great shape. Over the past year (after the delay from December 2025), the game has been significantly improved: nearly 300 new Build Mode objects, over 100 Paramaker items, 191 new animations, and more than 30 new Live Mode features have been added.
The developers haven't just been fixing bugs – they've been purposefully polishing the product, so players will get a high‑quality, well‑thought‑out foundation for hours of gameplay. The promise of free updates effectively means you buy the game once and get all future additions for free – a stark contrast to models like The Sims 4 with its massive library of paid DLC.
With less than three weeks left until May 25, best of luck to the developers in their final polishing!
