The Paralives developers have released another patch for early access. The July 16, 2026 update, weighing about 54 MB, brings several important improvements: a reworked vacation system, new animations for long chairs, numerous bug fixes, and finally, a resolution to the mysterious naked Charlie issue.

Earlier, we covered the patch that fixed the fire system and sped up loading, as well as other updates adding new features and improvements.

Reworked Vacation System

One of the key new features is a rework of the vacation system. Now, when starting a new job, Parafolk have paid days off from the start and can accumulate them over time. They can request time off or take paid leave directly over the phone. The number of available days depends on the chosen Storyteller, adding flexibility and variety to the gameplay.

New Animations for Long Chairs

New animations have been added for situations where Parafolk sit down and stand up from long chairs. This improves the visual experience and makes character movements smoother and more natural.

Mirror Fix

A bug that caused Parafolk to display incorrectly in mirrors has been fixed. Characters will now look as intended in reflections.

Romantic Interaction Fix

The "Ask if Single" interaction will no longer consider "Romantic Interest" as a full relationship. This fixes some errors in social interactions and makes them more realistic.

Maximum Personality Level

When reaching personality level 12, the color indicator changes to make it clearer to the player that the maximum has been reached. At this level, the character no longer gains experience points for personality, as further development is impossible.

Voices in the Tutorial Train

Voices for each household can now be heard in the tutorial train, adding atmosphere to the game's opening scene.

Major Bug Fixes

Goodbye Charlie. One of the most noticeable and amusing early access issues has been resolved. New Parafolk are now correctly deleted from save files if the player exits without saving after creating them.

Custom Images on Mac. Mac players can now also add custom images to the appropriate assets (this feature was previously only available on PC).

Giant Mushroom Pasta. The mushroom pasta meal will no longer randomly become huge (yes, this was a real bug).

Bulldozing Lots. Bulldozing lots no longer freezes the game, even for a moment.

Proposing to Yourself. Fixed an issue where a Parafolk could propose to themselves in the Together Cards.

Wrinkles on Children. Children will no longer acquire wrinkles when aging up from the toddler stage.

Item Placement Crash. Fixed a problem where stacking certain items could crash the game.

Parafolk Unloading. Characters now properly unload from the city of Melino when they reach a town exit point.

Town Event Skill Bonus. Participating in town events now actually gives a bonus to skill learning speed.

Story Card Save and Reload. If you save and reload the game while a Storyteller card notification is active, it will no longer disappear.

"You Have Many Plans for Tomorrow" Card. This card now correctly provides 3 random wants upon selection.

"Make 200 Paradimes" Want. This want now works more accurately and accounts for selling and buying items.

"Big House 2" Life Goal. This life goal can now be correctly selected and will no longer be replaced by "Big House 3."

Hopscotch Forever. Playing hopscotch is now properly canceled when you need to go to school or work.

Placing Lots from Library. Players can no longer place library lots that are larger than their available lot space.

"Level up Outdoorsiness skill" Want. Parafolk will no longer feel the need to level up this non-existent skill.

Adults and Speech/Potty Skills. Adults will no longer get a want to level up speech or potty skills.

Computer Screen. Computers will no longer show Among Us playing by default on their screen.

Various Clothing Fixes. Corrected a few assets that were not displaying as intended.

Localization. Fixed various issues with text display in some languages, as well as typos and untranslated strings.

Curtain Scaling. Fixed a scaling issue on a set of curtains.

Known Issue

The developers also reported one known issue that has not yet been resolved: in-game time gradually slows down after about 70 in-game days. As a temporary solution, the team suggests adjusting the time in the Storyteller settings if you encounter this problem. The developers are actively working on a fix.

The July 16 update is another step in polishing Paralives. The developers are not only fixing numerous bugs but also continuing to add new features that improve quality of life. It's especially nice that the team listens to the community and quickly resolves even the most amusing issues (like giant pasta or naked Charlie). Players can expect the game to become increasingly stable and feature-rich.
