InZOI Update June 18: Babies, Autonomy, Mod Auto‑Updates, and Kjun's New Message
The InZOI developers at Krafton have confirmed the release date for the next major patch. The update, originally planned for early June, will arrive on June 18, 2026. The focus is not on new features, but on deep polishing of existing systems – from infant behavior and character autonomy to automatic mod updates. Alongside the announcement, Kjun posted a new message explaining why the team is shifting focus from quantity of features to their quality.
Earlier, we covered the InZOI school update in detail, as well as wrote about the team reorganization and infant improvements.
Release Date and Kjun's Message
The update will be released on June 18, 2026. Kjun, the game's producer and director, warned that the patch could have been delayed even further, but the team managed to meet the deadline. In his message from June 12, he explained that the team has switched to strengthening foundational systems:
"Recently, the inZOI team has been focused on strengthening the depth and immersion of the game's core systems. In particular, we are improving the interplay of autonomous behavior, personalities, memories, and relationships so that the world of inZOI feels more alive and believable to players."
Kjun also noted that the team has grown significantly, and such transitions take time, but they are necessary to build a solid foundation for the future. He apologized that the update might not meet the expectations of those who were waiting for major new features, and promised that starting next week, the developers will begin sharing more detailed information about how the game is evolving according to its vision.
New Interactions for Infants
One of the key areas of the patch is the behavior of the youngest residents of InZOI. The developers added several new animations and interactions that will make toddlers more lively and independent:
Playing with the fridge. Infants can now play with the fridge, shake it, and even break it.
Self‑entertainment. If left alone, a child will find something to do and entertain themselves.
Wet pants. If a toddler is kept in a high chair too long, they may wet their pants.
Napping in the high chair. Infants can doze off and even fall asleep right in the high chair.
Throwing the bottle. Toddlers can now throw their bottle from the high chair.
These changes are designed to make childcare more realistic and varied, and to add a bit of chaos – in a good way.
Autonomy and Interaction Improvements
The developers have reworked many everyday mechanics to make gameplay smoother and more intuitive:
Actions on furniture. Zois no longer have to stand up to perform an action on the same piece of furniture. For example, they can crawl over a bed or sofa, and they can immediately go to sleep after playing guitar in bed.
Convenient sitting. You can now sit or lie down on any furniture from any side, depending on which side is closer.
Crafting at tables. All tables can now be used for crafting, and the number of characters that can simultaneously craft at one table is no longer limited.
Polite request to move. If someone is occupying your desired seat, you can ask them to move – politely or not, even if the seat doesn't belong to you.
Nearest wardrobe. Zois will always use the wardrobe closest to their bed to change into pajamas.
Call notifications. The phone screen now shows incoming calls.
Swings and Other Small Details
Two on the swing. Two Zois can now swing together on the same swing.
Car U‑turn. Cars now have a special U‑turn maneuver.
Treating Illnesses and the Hospital
If a Zoi gets sick, they can now visit the hospital to get treatment. This adds realism and gives players more control over their characters' health.
Mods: Auto‑Update and MetaHuman
Two important pieces of news for modders and those who love customization:
Auto‑update for mods. The game now has a system that shows which mods haven't been updated and allows you to retry updating them.
MetaHuman conversion. MetaHuman bodies can now be converted into InZOI. This opens up endless possibilities for creating ultra‑realistic characters.
Canvas: Number Display
On the Canvas platform (the in‑game social network), hovering over downloads and likes now shows the exact number, rather than an abbreviated version like "3.5k".
Focus on Depth, Not Quantity
Kjun's main message in this update is a shift in priorities. Instead of chasing new features, the team has focused on quality and the interconnection of existing systems. This means that in the coming months, we can expect not so much big announcements as gradual but thorough improvements to what is already in the game. The developers want the world of InZOI to feel alive, not just a collection of mechanics.
The June 18 update is an important step in InZOI's development. It doesn't add the school system (which is expected later), but it lays a solid foundation for future innovations. The improvements to infants, autonomy, modding, and the interface make the game more comfortable and realistic. And most importantly – Kjun and his team are clearly stating that they are building a game for years to come, and for them, quality matters more than quantity.
