Free Country Kitchen Kit in Sims 4: How to Claim, What's Included, and Console Plans
To celebrate the launch of The Sims 4 Marketplace, the developers have made a generous gift to all PC and Mac players — the Country Kitchen Kit is available to claim completely free. In another article, we covered all the sets available with the Marketplace launch, now let's take a closer look at the free kit.
What Is This Kit and Why Is It Free?
Country Kitchen Kit is a Build/Buy set in a rustic style that originally released back in 2021 as part of the first wave of Kits. It normally costs $4.99 (or 500 Moola in the new currency), but with the Marketplace launch, EA has made it free for all PC and Mac users.
Important note: the kit is now sold exclusively through the in-game Marketplace. It's no longer available for purchase separately in online stores like Steam or the EA App. So this isn't just a discount — it's currently the only way to get this kit at all.
What's Inside the Country Kitchen Kit?
The kit is dedicated to creating a cozy, rustic kitchen and includes 15 Build/Buy items.
Here's what you'll find:
Appliances and Furniture:
- Old-fashioned stove with an integrated, eye-level range hood
- Retro refrigerator with rounded edges and legs
- Sink with an integrated cabinet and curtain
- Kitchen cabinets with a distressed "vintage" finish
- Various wall cabinets, including corner units with open shelving
Decor and Small Details:
- Kitchenware set: casserole dishes, bread boxes, storage jars, cookie tins
- Fruit basket and flowers
- Wall shelves with charming patterns
Finishing Touches:
- Terracotta-toned floor tiles resembling stone or ceramic
- Brick walls with a weathered, aged effect
All items come in multiple color swatches that mix and match easily.

What About Consoles?
For now, the free kit is only available on PC and Mac, as the Marketplace for PlayStation and Xbox will launch later. The developers have promised that console players will also be able to claim the Country Kitchen Kit for free when the platform arrives on their devices. No exact dates have been announced yet, but according to official information, it's a matter of weeks or months.
Community Reaction
News of the free kit has sparked mixed feelings. On one hand, many players are happy to receive quality content for free. On the other, those who purchased the kit earlier at full price feel frustrated. Forum comments include: "What about compensation for those who already bought it?".
Some also note that the kit's style is very close to the Cottage Living expansion — if you own that pack, some items might feel familiar. But for players who don't have Cottage Living, this is an excellent opportunity to get quality kitchen furniture.
Either way, it's a nice bonus for anyone who's been eyeing this kit but hesitated to buy. Even if you already own Cottage Living, extra kitchen items always come in handy — and since it's free, it'd be a shame not to grab it.
