Significant changes have taken place in the official The Sims Discord server. A character named PlumRobert has joined the community team, changed the channel avatar, and announced the launch of a new weekly event — Weekly Challenges. At first glance, players' tasks are simple: complete creative and sometimes slightly chaotic assignments that will be posted every Friday.

Who Is PlumRobert?

PlumRobert is a new community character for The Sims. In his announcement, he declared that he "brought something with him," and that something turned out to be a system of new events. Server members have already noticed that he added several stickers of himself to Discord and playfully asks everyone to use them. Players can also get a special role, @Plumrobert's Challenger, to make sure they don't miss the announcements.

PlumRobert (his nickname is an obvious reference to the iconic Plumbob — the green crystal above Sims' heads) addressed the community warmly and with humor.

"Your Sims are about to get busy. (I don't mean WooHoo! Unless…)" — he wrote.

How Will the Friday Challenge Work?

The new system kicks off on April 24, 2026 at 11:00 PM (likely GMT/UTC time, but the original announcement may be based on a specific timezone). As planned, a new challenge will be posted every Friday in the #llama-lounge channel. To keep things organized, a separate channel, #plumroberts-weekly-challenge, has been created for submitting entries.

Why Is This Interesting?

Regularity: A new challenge every week keeps things fresh and disciplined.

Convenience: No more hunting for tasks across the server; everything is in one place.

Competition: It's not just a checkbox for yourself. The best entries may be featured in the Maxis Faves roundup or highlighted on The Sims social media channels.

What Prizes Are on Offer?

So far, PlumRobert has announced that outstanding participants can expect:

  • Inclusion in the Maxis Faves feature, where developers share the community's best creations.
    • Mentions on The Sims social media accounts.

It's not yet known whether material prizes (in‑game packs, event items) are planned, but the mere fact of official recognition from the developers is a strong motivator for creative players.

Is It PvE or Just Building?

From the phrasing "Your Sims are about to get busy" and "Do something fun. Or chaotic. Ideally both," it seems the challenges won't be limited to building. It's very likely that challenges will involve gameplay situations (creating drama, achieving goals, roleplaying odd scenarios). An official list of tasks for the first week isn't available yet, but it's expected to appear on launch day.

      How to Join?

To participate in the Sims weekly challenges, follow these simple steps:

      • Join the official The Sims Discord server.
        • Go to the Channels & Roles section.
          • Activate the Plumrobert's Challenger role to receive notifications when challenges start.

Also, you can now download the Country Kitchen Kit in‑game, which is also available for free to console players, to spruce up your houses before the new challenges.

            Community Reaction

The announcement was met with cautious optimism. The community appreciated that the developers are looking for new ways to interact with players. The main point of curiosity is the format of the tasks: will they be standard building challenges, Sim creation contests, or gameplay missions? Many players have already speculated that PlumRobert will take on the role of announcer and become the face of this activity.

The launch of this event is a step toward closer, more regular interaction between the developers and dedicated fans who spend time on the official Discord platform. The "Weekly Challenges" could become a great way to diversify gameplay — if the tasks are sufficiently original and varied. Keep an eye out for announcements on April 24 and get ready to complete those challenges!
