Locals and History of Gibby Point
Many, many years ago, before it was inhabited, a great wave rushed through Gibbi Point to create a lush and fertile landscape. It became home to Jellyfish, Glow Worms and Plumbirds; it’s also where the world’s largest geyser, unusual caves of crystal, and a bioluminescent bay were formed. But it was more than these unusual creatures and natural wonders that drew Sims from all over to Gibbi Point.
Gibby Point is considered to be inspired by New Zealand, Australia, and the national parks of the United States. Possibly, the town’s landscape was directly inspired by Queenstown, a popular resort town in New Zealand.

This family owns and operates the Gibby-Gibbi camp. Nigel is the head of the family, and together with his childhood friends Raheel and Toshie, they are known as the Great Adventurers. He helps newcomers explore Gibby Point, sharing his experience and knowledge, but he seems to be drifting away from his wife, who feels she doesn’t get enough of his attention. His wife, Sarah, yearns for self-expression, but feels trapped by parental responsibilities, while their children, twins Erin and Aeris, despite possible disagreements between their parents, are very close—although their personalities differ.
Freeda Perry and Dougie

Freeda is an energetic and determined woman who created her own world-class Fitness Retreat, Revive & Thrive. She believes that physical activity helps Sims find themselves. Her grandson Dougie is the complete opposite; he is very shy. However, he finds solace in his imaginary friend, a doll gifted by his grandmother named Wild Child, who helps him overcome difficulties.

Jane and Star have created something like a commune-style home for those looking for romance or wanting to understand themselves better. They help other Sims grow by offering a place to relax, find harmony, and recharge.

You will also meet other interesting characters in Gibby Point. Pruella is a local eccentric who loves extinct Big Plumbirds so much that she dresses and behaves like them, keeping their memory alive. It seems that her appearance is inspired by the rare New Zealand bird Takahē.
Buddy Skoop is a child entrepreneur who sells unique collectible items he finds himself. Skoop will always remain a child Sim. He has no family and no one knows where he lives. Some locals say they often see him near the fire watchtower…

Can you romance Pruella?
You can flirt with Pruella, hug her, and kiss her, but she does not woohoo in costume. To see what Pruella looks like, you can add her to your household. Also, then her costume could be worn by someone else!
How many townie families?
There will be three families in the world, plus a number of special characters.

Do the townies also live at the getaway locations?
In the Love Highland live the Addams family. Star and Jane Addams manage that lot together with two roommates, Skip and Aurora (whom you already know from before).
Previous Game Characters
Yes. You’ll see Skip Broke (who was a ghost in The Sims 2 and lived in Riverview in The Sims 3). Also, Agora Tchotchke from The Sims Stories will appear.
Do we get to put our own sims in the getaways?
Yes, you can add any sims.
Quests
There are four festivals in Gibbi Point:
- Round the Fire festival in Wanderwood Wilds,
- Sunrise, Sunset festival in Crystal Valley,
- Glow and Flow Festival in Jellyfish Junction,
- Fitness Fest in Jellyfish Junction.
What's with the fire watchtower?
You can greet the hermit park ranger there, send him a note via paper airplane (and he’ll respond), and exchange gifts with him.
What quests will exist in Gibby Point?
- Butterfly Conservationist Quest. Laxmi Kunal can be found in Wanderwood Wilds, and they have a quest relating to butterflies.
- World Quests. Toshie Akamine can be found, she has 3 world quests to complete. Completing them unlocks a special Geyser thing and also the ability to get small bits of gossip from townies.
- Plumbird Quests. You get these off Pruella’s “nest” in Crystal Valley. Completing these will unlock two special interactions with Pruella (“Superhug” and sharing feelings).

Promo Page for the Getaways
On the official site, there are flyers highlighting the entertainments that await Sims in the new expansion. Among them: a paranormal camp, a romantic contest for seniors, and even a rock-paper-scissors tournament.
New getaway locations are unlocked daily, so come back forward to updates.

Now Sims can go to a summer camp, where they will experience incredible adventures with vampire counselors, werewolves, mermaids, and fairies. By day they explore forests and collect butterflies; by night they tell stories around the campfire and uncover new mysteries.
This location requires the expansions Enchanted by Nature, Island Living, and the game packs Vampires and Werewolves.

This is a location for any Sim who wants to relax. They can sit in a jacuzzi, chat with friends in a hot chocolate lounge, or have a romantic moment with their partner in a secret pool.
The Golden Age of Love
Led by Star Addams, Sims can take part in a romantic competition to find their soulmate. Those who can’t get along with others risk being eliminated from the game, so one must be ready to open one’s heart. Whether Sims find the perfect match or return home heartbroken is up to you.
Booty Bootcamp
The Revive & Thrive fitness retreat offers a week-long “Booty Bootcamp” program where your Sims can improve their physical shape. During the week they’ll do cardio, strength training, and stretching under coach Flex’s guidance. They’ll use modern equipment and enjoy nutritious smoothies. At the end of the program, the Sims must complete a final challenge — the bench press with the legendary Big Plumbird.
Full Moon Rising at Gibbi Bay
Here you can enjoy a traditional dish — fried jellyfish — as well as go kayaking, fishing, or ride water slides. At night, the bay becomes magical: the water becomes bioluminescent, and Sims can swim in a glowing pool.

Imaginary Friends: Everything You Wanted to Know
On September 17, a Q&A session was held in The Sims 4’s Discord about one of the expansion’s most interesting new features — imaginary friends. We gathered the most interesting facts (and now we’re debating which friend to choose).
How to get the ImagineMe! doll and turn it into an imaginary friend?
- Purchase a doll from build mode. You can choose which of the four dolls you want.
- After that, a child can play with the doll as usual — tell it secrets, carry it around, etc.
- Reach Creative skill level 3 and befriend the doll (as you play with or talk to it, you develop a relationship visible on the relationship panel). Or the Sim child might suffer from loneliness so much that they need a friend.
- Then the Sim can turn the doll into their imaginary friend.

At what age can an imaginary friend become real?
If your Sim child has good relationships with their imaginary friend, then when the Sim becomes a teenager, they can turn the doll into a real person. So don’t ruin your relationship with your imaginary friend!
How many imaginary friends can a child have?
A child can have only one doll, and thus one imaginary friend. But if you want to change the imaginary friend, the child always has the option to bid farewell to the current one and then you can buy a new doll (though that’s kind of harsh!).
How do the imaginary friends differ from one another?
Imaginary friends have the following character traits:
- Lil Monster: Goofball
- Pretty Pegacorn: Evil
- Krafty Kid: Creative
- Wild Child: Competitive
The choice of imaginary friend determines what types of activities they’ll suggest to the child. For example, with Pretty Pegacorn the child may practice mischievous interactions, and that strengthens their relationship! If the child listens enough to a “mean” imaginary friend, they may acquire the trait “Future Evil”, which they can manifest in their teenage years if they wish.

Can you change the appearance of an imaginary friend?
Each of the four characters has a unique appearance matching their original childlike (imaginary) form. That means, for instance, once Pretty Pegacorn is your imaginary friend, she will look like that, and her appearance cannot be changed. But once they become real as a teenager, you can customize them in CAS.
What happens when the imaginary friend becomes real?
They become an normal Sim. Other Sims will be able to see and interact with them. The imaginary friends have a predetermined appearance (as shown in the image) and a random name. You’ll be able to change everything in CAS.

Once imaginary friends become real, can adults in the household parent them as they would any other child?
When you turn them into a real Teen Sim, they join the household, but as a roommate. You can accept them into your family if you want!
Are there any restrictions on what they can do once they’re real?
No — they’re a full, regular Teen Sim.
Do real former imaginary friends have any special traits or abilities?
Since the made real Sim isn’t an occult, they are just living as a normal Sim. No special trait passed down. It’s their chance to finally become a real Sim after ages of being imaginary! They’re just happy to taste food and touch things.

Can adult sims with the Goofball trait see imaginary friends?
Adult sims cannot see or interact with imaginary friends.
How autonomous are the imaginary friends?
Mostly they spend time near their child friend. They exist to befriend the child and be around them.
Are the imaginary friends’ clothing items available in CAS?
Their costumes in human form can be unlocked in CAS if they become real.
Are there cross-pack features involving imaginary friends?
They will recommend tons of activities from across all packs, based on their personality. For example, creative one might suggest cross-stitiching if you own Cottage Living or knitting for Nifty Knitting, etc.
Can imaginary friends stay with a sim once sims reach adulthood?
If they turned into a real sim, yes! Or you can keep the doll into adulthood, and then there is an option to seek comfort from the old friend (or frenemy!), which gives mood bonuses depending on your relationship with the imaginary friend during childhood.
The Getaway Planner & Sul-Sul Island 2
To showcase all the possibilities of the vacation planner in the new expansion, the Sims team built their own reality show! Its eight participants (some of them residents of Gibby Point, some NPCs) are shown taking trips.

The show is hosted by local resident Jane Addams, and in fact consists of just two trailers, one at the beginning and one at the end. They show how Sims build relationships and compete using new equipment: kayaks, workout machines, free weights, even custom playgrounds for children.
