The Sims 4 New Expansion Pack 2026: Royalty & Legacy Details Revealed
The new year for The Sims 4 has started off excitingly, with information surfacing online about a new expansion that, according to rumors, is set to release in February 2026. Let's break down what exactly the developers have in store for us.
Although they stated that there would be less new content in the game and that we should expect active fixes for old bugs, this hasn't stopped them from releasing several kits and preparing a new expansion.
What was known previously about Royalty & Legacy:
Information about the expansion first came from insider phii_oda:
"TS4's major content is done, expect only updates and kits after EP21. EP21 is focused on royalty with three kingdom types, only one of which is based on Africa. We were gonna get a whole African world for free but it was canned for some reason."
It was also reported that this expansion would be the last one and after its release we should only expect bug fixes and new game kits.
A bit later all these rumors were confirmed, and the expansion's title became known: Royalty & Legacy. It was translated from the official game rating classification page in South Korea.

The game title was registered on December 18, and the application review took place on December 26.
Developers have confirmed the expansion's theme
A couple of days ago, EA Creator Network participants published a link to an official teaser website called letterfromthesims.com, which lifts the veil of mystery for us. Just a tiny bit. When you enter the site, we see a sealed parchment.
To unlock access, you need to enter a secret password. Thanks to creator VelvettBYT, we can peek inside, as she shared the password: EMBER-2LDP
Here's what's written on the parchment itself:
«In The Sims, the most meaningful things are often the ones you don't plan.

Through the lives you create and the worlds you shape, you've helped make this space playful, personal, and full of possibility.

As new chapters wait just beyond view, they do so with the same spirit at heart: stories to tell, worlds to explore, and traditions that begin when you least expect them.

It would seem like yet another cryptic text that doesn't really reveal any details, but! If you scroll down, a candle appears with the inscription "Click to discover secrets."
A hidden text is revealed to us:
«If you wish to pursue power, you must do so carefully. Plot your next move wisely… you never know who’s watching.
All will be revealed on January 15th, 8am PT.»
But that's not all. In the upper corner of the parchment we can see an icon resembling a frog image:
And just below the inscription: "C was here." Players are connecting this to Princess Cordelia and speculating that she will appear in the new expansion.
Well, and the most interesting part: in the lower left corner there are three icons connected by arrows, which look very much like icons of new kingdoms or neighborhoods, it's not known for certain yet.
There's a theory that the top icon represents an African neighborhood, the bottom one — a maritime one, and the middle one — a European one. Although we really want to hope that these are all full-fledged worlds, or something radically new. In the case of the maritime theme, it would be nice to get a mermaid update and expansion of their abilities. But these are just dreams!
When will the expansion be released?
According to rumors, the release is scheduled for February 2026. This was reported by insider lunar_britney. We'll be waiting for further details on January 15, as was written on the parchment.
