The Sims 4 team has released the latest Laundry List, announcing over 10 fixes for the most‑voted community bugs, a major overhaul of notifications and phone calls, and the long‑awaited move of scratch files to AppData for Mac users. The developers have also announced a special Q&A session in Discord to discuss these and other changes.

Top Fixes for the Most‑Voted Issues

The upcoming update focuses on closing the most critical bugs players have reported. Key fixes include:

  • Windows and doors now display correctly and remain properly aligned with walls across all graphics settings (Low, Medium, and High), without clipping or glitching into the walls.
    • Fixed an issue where partnered Sims could form an unexpected relationship upon leaving Create a Sim.
      • Addressed an issue where the game could become stuck on the thumbnail UI when clicking on a Gallery item after changing filters.
        • The game will no longer soft lock when attempting to download a Custom Tattoo from the Gallery.
          • Fixed an instance of endless loading (save corruption) that could occur when trying to place certain lots from the Gallery that had an overuse of placement cheats, corrupting the lots' footprints.

            Evil Sims and Dynasties

A top community concern around "Sims performing Mean interactions" was investigated. The team found that in new reports and player saves, this was being caused by the "Vicious Dynasty Ideal" from Royalty & Legacy and was by design. However, responding to feedback, they made a change: Sims with the Vicious Dynasty Ideal will no longer autonomously run Mean interactions. They will still get Prestige Points when a player manually runs Mean socials.

Additionally, fixed an issue where Child Sims could be automatically added to a Dynasty, and players would receive the "Joined Dynasty" notification on repeat when entering or leaving Create a Sim.

            Pack‑Specific Fixes

The update also addresses bugs in various packs:

            • Get to Work: Fixed an issue where Doctors couldn't perform interactions with their Patients or use the "Deliver Food" interaction.
              • Cats & Dogs: Fixed issues preventing Sims from adopting Cats and Dogs, performing the "Feel the Love" interaction on a cat or small dog, and bathing small Dogs.
                • Get Famous: Sims are once again able to complete the Hair and Makeup task on an Actor Career gig.

Improvements to Live Mode Notifications & Phone Calls

A major focus of the update is a thoughtful pass at Live Mode notifications to make everyday gameplay feel smoother, more intentional, and less overwhelming. The goal is to cut down on spam while keeping immersion front and center.

                  Control Over Notifications:

Added a Festival Notifications section to the Game Options menu, allowing players to choose which festivals they receive notifications for on a pack‑by‑pack basis.

The "Silence Phone" button now properly prevents all phone calls.

Notifications Now Make More Sense for Story:

                  • Only friends will call for dating advice.
                    • All Neighborhood Stories phone calls now require your Sims to be at least friends.
                      • Sims in the Freelancer Career will no longer receive gig calls from careers they are not in.
                        • Sims need to be Friendly before they call to invite your Sims to a Festival or Getaway.
                          • Stay Over calls can now happen multiple times, any time after fourteen days have passed since the initial call. This fix is retroactive in old saves.
                            • Sims present on the lot will no longer call to ask about your adult Sim's childhood for Formative Moments.
                              • The Grim Reaper will only call Sims to offer a job if they are Macabre.

                                Less Spam:

                                • Removed repetitive phone calls about becoming friends or enemies.
                                  • Removed reminders about Earbuds.
                                    • Decreased frequency of dancing and Bar Night invites.
                                      • Bess Sterling will not call as quickly or as frequently anymore.
                                        • Decreased frequency of Community Closeness Calls.
                                          • Removed the "Come check out ThrifTea!" notification reminder.
                                            • Decreased frequency of romance‑related phone calls.
                                              • The Discovery Quest for "Starting a Dynasty" should only occur once per save.
                                                • Generally decreased how frequently players will get invites from other Sims.

Scratch Files Move to AppData for Mac Users

As part of the ongoing investigation into Save Corruption, following the successful rollout for PC players in March, the developers are making the same changes for Mac users. Scratch files will be moved from Documents to AppData to prevent conflicts with cloud backup services. Since the PC rollout, improvements in Infinite Load occurrences have been observed.

                                                  Other Fixes and General Improvements

Alongside the notification improvements, this update will address over 50 highly voted community issues across the Base Game and packs. Key fixes include:

                                                  • Stacked items, Photos and Paintings no longer become stuck to the cursor when moving them to a Sim's inventory.
                                                    • A series of fixes for duplicated Sim issues.
                                                      • A fix for Sims doing limited romantic interactions.
                                                        • Improvements to various Base Layer assets to improve quality.

                                                          Q&A Session and Release Date

The developers invite players to join a special Q&A session on June 23 in the official Sims Discord, where they will discuss upcoming quality‑of‑life updates. The full patch notes with all fixes will be published on June 30.

The June Laundry List is an important step in improving the game experience. The team is not only closing critical bugs but also focusing on quality of life — reducing annoying notification and call spam. The scratch file move for Mac should lower the risk of save corruption. This update continues the trend of developers actively working on stability and responsiveness. Now we just have to wait for the full patch on June 30 to see all the changes in action.
