Sims 4 Car Mod Brings Back the Iconic Supersportscar from The Sims 2: Nightlife
While Electronic Arts has yet to officially add functional vehicles to The Sims 4, modders continue doing what they do best — filling in the gaps. Creator AlexCroft has released a beta version of a mod that brings the iconic sports car from The Sims 2: Nightlife into the fourth installment, complete with boarding animations, radio functionality, and even the ability to drive off the lot.
Return of a Legend
Longtime players will remember the Supersportscar — one of the most recognizable vehicles from The Sims 2: Nightlife expansion. Now, thanks to modder AlexCroft, this car has found new life in The Sims 4.
The mod is currently available in beta on the creator’s Patreon. It’s an early release with some limitations, but even in its current state, the vehicle offers an impressive set of features that players have been missing from the game.
“This project has been a huge technical journey for me. I’m finally able to share the beta version,” AlexCroft writes on their Patreon.
How the Mod Works
The car can be found in Buy Mode under the Transportation category. It costs 5,400 Simoleons. The set includes 9 original color swatches that faithfully replicate the design from The Sims 2: Nightlife.

For the best realism, the creator recommends placing the car near a road — this way the driving-off animations will look as natural as possible.
What you can do with the car right now:
Travel. Sims can get in the car and travel to any location.
Take passengers. The “Travel With…” function is available.
Listen to the radio. The car has a working radio with volume control.
Park. The latest mod update added custom driveways and parking spots with 4 color variations.
When one or two Sims get into the car to go somewhere, the mod recreates the original animation from The Sims 2: Sims start the engine, pull out onto the road, and only then does the loading screen appear with destination choices. It’s a small but important detail that makes traveling around the world feel much more realistic.
Beta Version: What Works and What Doesn’t
AlexCroft honestly warns that this is an unfinished version. The car is functional and looks great in the game, but some technical aspects are still being refined.
The creator has included a full list of known issues and limitations with the mod archive, so testers know what to expect.
The Long Road to Functional Cars in Sims 4
The story of cars in The Sims 4 is a long and winding one. The game launched without them in 2014, and over 12 years, the developers have never added proper transportation. A popular rumor in the community suggests that EA decided against cars because players rarely used them in The Sims 3 — but many find this claim debatable.
Over the years, modders have proposed several solutions to the problem:
Decorative cars. Creators like Lorysims have added dozens of realistic models from real brands (Audi, Aston Martin, Honda, Subaru, and others) — but they only serve as decoration.
Experimental mods. Creator Waronkcc used bicycle animations to “make” a car drive. Sims can sit in groups of four and chat inside, but the vehicle follows bike paths — it looks fun but not very realistic.
AlexCroft’s new approach. Since February 2026, the modder has been working on converting the vehicle from The Sims 2, and their version has proven the closest to what players have been waiting for. They recreated the boarding and driving-off animations, and have now added parking spots with driveways.
What’s Planned for the Future
The mod’s official trailer has already teased one of the most anticipated features — the ability to WooHoo in the car, complete with the classic “rocking vehicle” animation that fans remember from The Sims 2. This feature will arrive in future updates.
Additionally, the creator has plans for:
- The ability to drive to work directly from home
- Car alarms
- Additional vehicle models
What the Community Is Saying
The mod has already sparked lively discussion. Many players note that these are exactly the features they’ve been waiting for from the official game for years. The realistic driving-off and parking animations, which were sorely missed, are especially appreciated.
One user commented under a previous article about cars: “Seeing a Sim get into a car and drive off the lot — that’s what I’ve been dreaming of.”
Where to Download
Currently, the mod is available in beta on AlexCroft’s Patreon. Like many other projects, it’s being released through early access so the creator can gather feedback and refine the functionality. The full version will likely become publicly available later.
The mod installs like regular CC — simply place the file in your Mods folder, and the car will appear in the Buy Mode catalog.
