What is known about the residents of Melino in Paralives?

At the time of early access release, most local Parafolk do not have detailed biographies. Instead, their personalities and backstories are revealed through unique combinations of traits, professions, family ties, and hidden relationships. This allows players to fill in the details themselves, but some stories can already be glimpsed.

More than a dozen households are scattered throughout the city, and each has its own characteristics.

The Darcier Household

Solene and Kian are young adults living together. They are not just neighbors or friends, but partners with a high level of relationship: "Exclusive Partners" (Lvl. 1) and "Lovers" (Lvl. 1). Solene works as a florist, and Kian is a cook at the local restaurant Chez Maurice.

Interestingly, they are opposites in personality: energetic Solene prefers to go to bed and wake up early and maintains perfect order, while gloomy Kian is a night owl and a real slob. This dynamic raises many questions: how do they manage to live under the same roof? Perhaps that is the secret of their strong relationship.

The Patel Household

Asha and Rahul are already an adult married couple. Asha works as a hospital cleaner, and Rahul is a curator at the museum/library. Unlike the Darciers, they lead a calmer, more measured lifestyle: both wake up early, and their personalities and cleaning habits do not conflict.

If you look at their home, the mess and trash right on the floor immediately catch your eye. It’s as if a poor family of slobs lives here who are fine with everything. It is worth noting that they have no children, although there is plenty of space in the house. The feeling that they are unhappy does not go away.

The Camara Household

One of the largest and most interesting families. Marvin and Emilia are spouses raising three daughters: Jada, Tina, and Dinah.

Marvin is a manager at the clothing store L’Armoire, where his eldest daughter Jada also works. Jada herself is a bright personality: she is a vegetarian with high levels of Creativity and Charisma and a talent for art. It seems this work is a family affair.

Tina works as a waitress at an Italian restaurant, while her younger sister Dinah is still in high school with C grades. Hopefully she can pull them up! This family has huge potential for stories: for example, how the sisters get along and support each other.

Their house is quite large and looks very interesting. The girls’ room alone is delightful, and the atmosphere in the home is cozy – every character has their own place.

The Pelletier Household

Rodger and Nataliya with their son Noah are another full family. Rodger is a restaurant manager, Nataliya is an elementary school teacher.

They have a four‑story house, with the third floor empty. There is a bedroom filled with boxes, and on the fourth floor lives Noah.

He has a large room, a teenager’s dream. It’s clear the developers put effort into furnishing the houses – each family has its own unique space.

Noah is in high school, but his grades leave much to be desired. Perhaps he lacks support, or maybe he spends too much time on the computer? Given his talent for technology and his gloomy personality, that is quite likely.

The Preston-Beaumont Household

Another traditional family living next door. Gerard and Pauline are spouses raising a teenage daughter Zoe and a toddler Adrien. Pauline is a housewife, which in itself is unusual for a life simulator and opens up possibilities for stories about burnout, finding oneself, or unrealized ambitions.

Zoe, it seems, is following Noah’s fate: she has mediocre high school grades and a gloomy personality with a talent for art. Perhaps this is an urban epidemic?

The Stanton Household

Marcus and Cindy are spouses working at the same place: he as a security guard, she as a nurse. They have two children: son Jake and daughter Justine.

The whole family seems to have no special talents (Good at Nothing), and their life habits and personalities look rather ordinary, creating the image of modest, simple people.

They have a small apartment with modest furnishings, but everyone has their own room, even if small.

The Cooper Household

Jason and Sofia are energetic young people who are about to get married. Jason is a personal trainer at the gym, Sofia is a nurse at the hospital. Both are vegetarians. They seem to care a lot about their health.

Their house is unusual, located directly above the railway. At first glance it looks like an apartment building, but in fact the whole building belongs to them.

The Vaughan Household

The Vaughan household deserves special attention. Its head, Maggie Vaughan, is not just an ordinary resident of Melino. She is one of the promotional characters of the game, familiar to many fans from the trailers.

Maggie works as an astronomer at the Space Agency, she is cheerful and has the talent "Jack‑of‑All‑Trades". Perhaps she has some story connected to the mysteries of space. Her house looks absolutely stunning! It’s hard to believe that such a thing can actually be built at the start of the game.

The Gervais Household

The most intriguing household. Julien is a young adult working as a creative director.

But most importantly, he has a secret crush on his enemy, Samantha Stark. This is a classic "enemies to lovers" drama, which has already become a meme in the community. How can you hate someone and be in love with them at the same time? It seems we are in for some very emotional confrontations and possibly a reconciliation. Or maybe not.

His house is decorated in black tones with the addition of natural wood, looking expensive and rich.

The Marquez Household

Another character familiar from the trailers is Sebastian Marquez. He works as a cook and raises his son Eli, whose elementary school grades leave much to be desired.

This family has the most decorated kitchen, and there is also a secret passage in the basement…

And it leads to the square with the museum, strange as that may seem. Why do they need such a passage and what does it mean? It’s unclear for now. What is especially strange is that we can go through the passage from the house, but not back into the house. Does that mean such passages exist elsewhere?

The Wake Household

Emma is an elderly woman who, judging by her clothes and the furnishings of her home, is a retired military officer and the keeper of the local lighthouse. Her past is shrouded in mystery, her personality is rather gloomy, and her talent is "Good at Nothing". Perhaps she is a war veteran seeking peace in solitude, or she has secrets that players have yet to uncover.

In her house there is a child’s room filled with boxes. It seems that once this home was crowded, but now she is all alone.

Unfortunately, when we switched to her, we noticed that she was stuck in a mountain. No cheat helps to get her out, and other players have encountered the same problem. Poor Emma.

The Wolf Household

Three young women who live together and try to make ends meet, working as salespeople in different stores.

Rebecca works at the antique shop, Bianca at the hair salon, Monica at the home goods store. Their home looks as bright and diverse as they do.

These are perfect characters to start your own story about friendship, survival, and finding one’s place in the world. The housing situation in a big city is always a challenge, isn’t it?

Important features of relationships in Paralives

The creators designed the relationship system to be more flexible and realistic. Unlike other simulators where relationships are always mutual, here asymmetrical connections are possible: one character may be in love while the other feels dislike. Moreover, relationship levels (for example, "Exclusive Partners" and "Lovers") can be different for each member of a pair, creating more realistic and multifaceted interactions and opening up possibilities for complex storylines. This also applies to family ties, allowing for dramatic family histories.

From the very beginning, Paralives has a deep system of social interactions built in. Relationships are not static; they can develop asymmetrically, and hidden parameters like "secret crush" add drama to the game. The city of Melino is populated by vibrant characters, each of whom can become part of your story – whether a friend, enemy, or lover.

As early access progresses, we can expect additional descriptions and perhaps even entire story quests related to these heroes. The developers have already promised to add more information about the residents in the future.
