New Characters in The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy: Dynasties, Conflicts, and the Main Heroes of Ondarion
With the release of the expansion pack The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy getting closer, the developers continue to gradually reveal details about the upcoming content.
Following the details about the Aristocrat's career and the features of the new world, the creators have turned their attention to the characters who will populate the Kingdom of Ondarion. It is through them that players will get to know the politics, traditions, and conflicts of this world.

"Attention, Simmers! Welcome to the magnificent world of Ondarion.
In the kingdom, the supreme throne stands empty, and the future of these lands remains uncertain. Three regions live their own lives: influential families weave intrigues, scandals erupt around the nobility, and long-standing conflicts only gain new momentum.
Whether you aspire to climb the social ladder and gain a noble title or prefer the quiet life of a commoner — meeting your neighbors will be inevitable. Their ambitions, connections, and hidden conflicts will directly affect how your Sim's story unfolds."
Let's take a look at what we know about the characters of the city of Ondarion at this point.
The House of Thebe: Masters of the Open Sea
One of the key families in the expansion is House Thebes, ruling in the coastal region of Verdemar. It is headed by Cordelia V — a charismatic and influential representative of the lineage, known as a socialite and experienced seafarer.
At court, she has become famous for her ability to maintain the right connections and host receptions where matters far more serious than they appear at first glance are decided.
The Origins of House Thebes: Lords of the Open Seas
The history of the Thebes family is closely tied to the figure of Cordelia I — a legendary explorer and adventurer of the past. According to official chronicles, it was her maritime expeditions that opened Verdemar to trade and an influx of people from all over Ondarion.
Unofficial sources, however, mention four pirates with whom Cordelia I had romantic relationships. These connections not only provided her with protection and influence but also laid the foundation for the complex and diverse legacy of the family, traces of which are still felt today.
The Abrantes Family: Ambition Beneath Devotion
Cordelia V's husband, Thiago Abrantes, prefers peace and family life over political ambitions. He rarely appears at the center of court intrigues and tries to distance himself from the struggle for influence.
However, his mother, Ermelinda Abrantes, takes a different view. She is convinced that House Thebes is not using Thiago's potential to its full extent and does not hide her desire to see her son as a more active player on the political stage.
Her daughter, Sofia Abrantes, appears to be an outside observer at first glance, but she is actually the one who knows most about the family's internal conflicts. Knowing about Cordelia's affair, Sofia is still considering whether to use this knowledge and how exactly.
Outlaws and Shadows of Verdemar
A special role in the life of the region is played by Fia Acosta — Cordelia V's favorite and the leader of a group of robbers operating under the guise of charity. Her activities balance on the edge between social justice and crime, and her relationship with the ruling dynasty creates grounds for scandals capable of shaking the reputation of House Thebes.
Her right-hand man is Aloisio Romualdo, an experienced extortionist and loyal ally whose influence extends far beyond the port quarters. His loyalty could prove invaluable if the truth comes out.
The Darong Dynasty: Philanthropy and Power
In the green and relatively calm Dambele, the central place is occupied by the Darong family — a dynasty for which power is tied to the care of culture and people. Adekoya Darong, a former Grand Duke, voluntarily stepped down from affairs but continues to exert influence on the region as a respected adviser. His main hope is connected with his daughter Jawara, whom he considers a worthy heir and potential ruler of all of Ondarion.
Jawara Darong herself shares her father's ambitions and is openly preparing for a political role, combining diplomacy with a strong character. Nevertheless, her position is complicated by personal feelings.
A Mysterious Suitor
The swordsman Akachi Onoja, who appeared in her circle relatively recently, raises questions among courtiers: his origins and goals remain unclear, and his closeness to a possible contender for the throne makes him a figure of heightened interest.
The Next Generation of Dambele
The new generation of the family is represented by Jawara's children. Amarachi Darong has dedicated herself to protecting the art and traditions of Dambele, actively participating in public life. Her brother Obi, on the other hand, is focused on science and research, demonstrating abilities that could play an important role in the region's future.
The Ananou Family: Artists and Tricksters
A trip to Dambele won't be complete without a visit to the Zanbira Market, where you will most likely meet the elderly artist Ekene Ananou, selling his handmade crafts. He is good-natured but a bit mischievous, so only engage with him if you want to joke around or have a laugh. Eken is also the guardian of his granddaughter, Afua Ananou. Although her mother died, her father, whom she doesn't know about, is still alive in Dambele. It just so happens that he is the patriarch of the Darong dynasty, and this secret he, Adekoya, and Ekene agreed to keep at the mother's request to protect her from the pressure of aristocrats.
House of Capp: Power, Tradition, and Decadence
In the refined Bellacorde, House Capp remains a symbol of aristocratic grandeur, but behind the outward splendor lies a deep internal crisis. Tybalt Capp views power as a resource that must be multiplied at any cost.
He strives to restore the house's former influence by building dynastic politics through advantageous alliances and marriages, often ignoring the wishes of his own children.
His eldest daughter, Beatrice, on the surface fits perfectly into the image of a representative of high society, but behind the restraint lies fatigue from constant pressure and expectations. She is increasingly thinking about the possibility of a different future, which goes against her father's plans.
Celeste Capp, the middle daughter, sincerely believes in the concepts of honor, chivalry, and duty, but it is precisely this that makes her a particularly conflicted figure within the family: she refuses to participate in Tybalt's cold political calculations.
The youngest son, Virgilio, takes the most radical position — he openly despises noble customs and participates in protest actions against the elite of Bellacorde, putting the reputation of the entire house at risk.
Over the family hangs the shadow of the past in the form of Consort Capp, the former Grand Duke and Tybalt's grandfather. His constant presence and sharp criticism emphasize the gap between the former ideals of service and the current pursuit of ostentatious luxury. For Tybalt, Consort becomes a living reminder of what House Capp was like before the erosion of public trust.
The Monty Family: Love, Scandals, and Rivalry
The rival to House Capp remains the Monty family. The conflict between them is not only personal but also symbolic, reflecting the clash of the old aristocracy with a freer view of origin and status. Juliette Monty, Tybalt's sister, was effectively banished from the family after she eloped with a commoner. Her union with Romeo Monty, a talented chef from the common class, became a public challenge to the Capps and a stain on their reputation.
Unlike the strict world of Bellacorde, the Monty family lives more openly and democratically, which attracts the sympathy of the townspeople. Their son, Dante, grows up as a sociable and friendly teenager and, despite the conflict between the families, maintains warm relations with his cousin Celeste Capp. This bond becomes a rare bridge between the feuding houses and a potential point for reconciliation — or a new spiral of confrontation.
Marriage as a Shortcut to Status
Additional tension in Bellacorde is created by second-tier nobles seeking to take advantage of the Capps' weakening. Among them stands out Enzo Alto — a distant relative of Holly Alto, already familiar to players from the Get Famous expansion.
His interest in an advantageous marriage and court intrigues makes him a potential ally of any side and reinforces the sense of instability at court.
All these storylines form the foundation of the dynastic drama of The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy. Players will have to decide whether the confrontation between House Capp and Monty will intensify or give way to reconciliation, whether secret connections and hidden kinship will lead to a change of power, and what role secondary characters capable of tipping the scales will play.
The developers have created a world where even an insignificant decision can change the fate of an entire lineage, turning each save into a separate historical era.
