InZOI Receives Major April 29 Update: UE 5.6, New Careers, and Business Management
Today, April 29, 2026, the developers of InZOI released a long-awaited update — one of the largest since the game entered early access. The patch not only adds numerous new professions and mechanics but also upgrades the game to the latest Unreal Engine 5.6. In this overview, we've gathered everything that has changed — from detailed character progression to business management and optimization.

Over 6 New Careers and an Advanced Hiring System
The update introduces six new professions tied to specific cities. In Dowon and Bliss Bay, Zois can now work as a Researcher, IT Developer, Architect, Music Producer, or Journalist. In sunny Cahaya, a new Travel Agent career is available.
The hiring process has become much deeper. To start a specialized career, your Zoi must submit an application, pass an interview, and impress the interviewer. Employability directly depends on their skills and charisma.
If you load an old save, career information will automatically sync with the updated version of the game.
Career and Personal Life: A New Balance
One of the most important changes concerns daily schedule management. School, work, and business no longer conflict — they have become independent categories!
You can now freely assign them to the same Zoi as long as their schedules do not overlap. The priority order is clear: first school, then work, then business. A character's profession and status (student, employee, freelancer, or business owner) are displayed at a glance on their info card.
Expanded Career Features
Paid leave and time off: Zois can officially request paid vacation, sick leave, or ask for remote work via computer.
Overtime and corporate events: Employees may sometimes be asked to work overtime, but the company might also surprise them with unscheduled days off.
Team projects: Days 1–4 of the work week now feature team‑building activities. Progress can be tracked on the phone. Your personal contribution and manager evaluation will affect bonuses and rewards.
Discipline and career growth: Tardiness can lead to reprimands, and unsatisfactory performance may result in dismissal. On the other hand, delivering projects on time opens the door to promotions.
Retirement and Financial Security
After reaching a certain tenure with a company, Zois can retire with honors. A corporate party is automatically triggered to celebrate the occasion, and the character begins receiving regular pension payments. If an employee is fired or resigns voluntarily, they are entitled to a generous severance package.
Freelancing Reimagined: Licenses, Reputation, and Apps
Now, to become a freelancer, you must first obtain an official license via computer. The most in‑demand fields this season are:
Delivery: Fulfill local delivery orders.
Creative: Write texts, compose music, and code scripts on commission.
Publishing: Earn commissions from the popularity of your creations.
Sell Online: Sell your work directly through the PC — lower prices per item, but faster turnover.
Your license level grows with your reputation. The higher your grade, the more complex and profitable the tasks. A dedicated phone app now helps track freelance status and income.
Business and Crime: New Opportunities
Ready‑made presets for new business types have appeared in cities. Dowon and Bliss Bay now feature Hair Salons, which require a special styling chair. In Cahaya, besides the salon, you can open a clothing store, styling mannequins for customers.
If your Zoi tires of a law‑abiding life, a criminal path has also been implemented:
At the starting level, petty theft (tips, food from the fridge) is available. After raising the stealing skill to level 1, all interactions unlock. At level 5, a criminal can obtain a crime mask. Wearing the mask prevents witnesses from calling the police — they run away in fear instead.
Romance, Gender Reveal Parties, and Realistic Pregnancy
Romantic life for Zois has become richer and more natural:
New level of intimacy: Kissing on top of the desk has been added, perfect for couples with serious intentions.
Gender Reveal Parties: Now available for expecting parents.
Baby care: If a toddler falls while standing, a parent or nanny will immediately rush to comfort them, and any accidental puddles must be cleaned with a mop.
Ultrasound: Pregnant Zois can visit a clinic for an ultrasound to learn the baby's gender and check its health.
Customization and Building
Creating the perfect character has become even more convenient.
Situational looks now include not only clothing but also hairstyles, makeup, and even skin tone. Up to 5 unique looks + 1 signature look can be created for each situation.
Studio background: A new "Cozy European Countryside" background has been added to the CAZ photo studio.
Family tree: Now can be saved directly in the game as a .png file, with the option to change the background.
Multi‑select: Hold Shift (Drag Select) and Alt (Drag Deselect). Rearranging interiors and moving entire groups of furniture has become incredibly fast.
New items: 10 new tops, 7 bottoms, 9 pairs of shoes, 2 hairstyles, and finally – wristwatches with color variations!
Technical Core: Upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.6
The main technical highlight of the patch is the upgrade to UE 5.6.
Graphics and performance: Players with high‑end PCs will enjoy smoother visuals, while those with lower‑end machines will see improved FPS stability without a major loss in visual quality.
Smart optimization: New sliders have been added to settings: "City Population Density" and "Animal Density" (already introduced in earlier builds).
AI translation: Turkish and Dutch languages have been added. The developers use AI for localization, so they have included an error reporting tool (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F9 + click on text).
Control settings: Key customization has been moved to the main options menu, and mouse sensitivity adjustment is now more intuitive.
Modding and MetaHuman Conversion
For content creators, the ModKit has been updated to support Unreal Engine 5.6. The most exciting addition is automatic mesh conversion from MetaHuman Creator into InZOI. Modders can now import ultra‑realistic characters created in the free MetaHuman tool, turning them into full‑fledged Zois without manual model reworking.
Important Note: Graphics Settings Reset
Attention: Due to the upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.6, all graphics settings will be reset to defaults. After installing the update, you will need to reconfigure graphics quality, screen resolution, and other visual options for your system. The developers note that this is a one‑time action.
How to Install the Update?
The update is now available for download via Steam. The patch size is approximately 6–8 GB (depending on platform). Before launching the game, make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.
The April update for InZOI is a huge step forward. It not only adds six new professions, an advanced hiring system, freelancing, romance, and business management but also upgrades the game to modern UE5.6 technology. Improvements in customization (situational outfits, multi‑select in Build Mode) and technical optimization make the game more comfortable and beautiful.
