InZOI: Kjun Apologizes for Instability and Presents Roadmap After the June Update

Following the massive June patch that added active schools, clothing stores, and a first-person view, the InZOI developers took stock of the situation. In the latest developer diaries, game producer Kjun apologized for the instability of the base game, admitted that "the further we develop the game, the more problems we discover," and presented an extensive list of what the team will be working on in the coming months. The focus is not on new features, but on strengthening existing systems and fixing bugs.

Kjun's Message: "I'm Sorry We Released the Update Before Full Stabilization"

The most important part of the new developer diaries is Kjun's sincere message. He admitted that the team released the update before fully stabilizing the base game:

"I'm posting this because I'm sorry we released the update before full stabilization of the base game. Oddly enough, the more we continue development, the more problems we discover. Nevertheless, we are learning little by little, and although my heart is heavy, we continue development with hope."

Kjun assured players that the team is aware of the community's patience and promised that starting next week, developers will focus only on fixing base game issues and strengthening connections between existing systems. The main goal is to make already implemented features work together more naturally, bringing InZOI closer to the feeling of real life.

He also shared something personal: developing alongside the community is a new experience for him, one he even shares with his son. And on the possibility of the game failing, he said philosophically:

"We suffer because of the standards we create for ourselves."

Two Directions for Improvement: Numerical Control and Active Management

Kjun explained that the team is approaching problem-solving from two sides.

First — numerical control. Improving internal values, priorities, and conditions that affect character behavior, their needs, schedules, and the overall flow of the simulation.

Second — active situational management. The developers want to give players more convenient ways to understand, guide, and manage what is happening in the game, so the simulation feels more connected and meaningful.

Team Reorganization: Everyone Does Everything

One of the key changes is internal reorganization. Instead of keeping a separate team focused only on bug fixing and stabilization, now every team member contributes to improving the game, while also continuing to fix bugs and improve stability.

What's Included in the Post-July Roadmap?

The developers published a detailed list of what they plan to work on in the near future. The main goal is to eliminate bugs, stabilize existing features, and ensure all systems work together naturally and reliably.

                                                                    In one of his messages, Kjun raised an important question: the team does not have the resources to fulfill all player requests and wants to know if the community is ready to accept some features implemented through mods rather than official updates. This is an open dialogue about how to distribute efforts between development and supporting the modding community.

                                                                    Kjun's message and the updated roadmap paint a picture of a mature approach to development. The InZOI team acknowledges its mistakes, apologizes for instability, and honestly says it can't do everything at once. Instead of chasing new features, the developers will focus on fixing bugs and strengthening the game's foundation.

                                                                    This may mean that upcoming updates will be less "loud" in terms of announcements, but of higher quality.
