InZOI High School Update Coming in May: Prom, High Heels, and Performance Options — Full Breakdown of Kjun's Message
The developers of InZOI took a short break after the major March update and the early access anniversary, but they're already back with news. The next big project is the school update, scheduled for May. The game's producer, Hyungjun "Kjun" Kim, released a detailed message, showed numerous screenshots, and asked players to help with feedback. We're breaking down his words so you don't miss anything.
Earlier, the March update for InZOI added flower shops, movie theaters, multitasking, a mini-map, and much more. Now the developers are focusing on making the teenage period of Zois' lives truly memorable.
What Kjun Said: Introduction and April–May Plans
In his message dated April 10, 2026, Kjun explained that the team decided to show early versions of features to gather feedback and make changes before release.
We're finally ready to begin sharing some of our latest developments in video form. As we're currently working toward the April and May update, we wanted to better organize the contents of these videos whenever possible.
For example, I know many of you are eager to see what School play will look like in inZOI, so we'll show what we have so far for that this week.
Set to release in May, you can give us many feedback on this topic, and we'll use our remaining time to implement those feedback.
Also, the last part of the video is to ask your opinion on a change we're looking to make."
Attached to these words is a video that breaks down the details of the upcoming update.
Kjun emphasizes that the team is showing early versions on purpose so they can make adjustments. This is a rare level of openness — the developers aren't just announcing final features, they're asking for help refining them. And the community loves it — the post has already gathered hundreds of comments with various ideas and suggestions. Players are genuinely invested in the game's development and, most importantly, they have the power to influence it.
Why the Team Didn't Know About Prom
Kjun honestly admitted that the Korean developers weren't familiar with American high school prom traditions. After learning how important it is to players, they added appropriate assets.
Prom outfit options (dresses and suits)
Hairstyle options
This is an important admission. A detailed prom wasn't originally planned, but after hearing player requests (mostly from the US and Europe), the developers added suits, dresses, and accessories.
High Heels — Finally!
Another long-awaited addition is high-heeled shoes.
A highly requested feature since the first days of early access.
A highly requested feature since the first days of early access. The developers found a compromise: heels are visible, but the character's height doesn't change, preventing animation issues (e.g., kisses, hugs, object interactions). Below we've attached screenshots of characters wearing high heels:
New Buildings and Items: Gym, Music Room, Art Studio
Many new environments appear in the screenshots. Kjun noted that the update will add not only CAS items but also entire buildings, lots, and furniture.
Gym uniforms, the gym building, and other facilities
Outdoor sports field and other buildings
School furniture and decor
Hallways and classrooms inside the school
The presence of extracurricular spaces suggests that school life will include clubs, sections, and skill development.
Technical Option: Toggling Zoi Spawn Distance
Beyond gameplay content, the developers are asking for feedback on a new performance setting.
Players with less powerful PCs will be able to sacrifice crowd draw distance for stable 60 FPS. Those with high-end systems can leave everything as is. Kjun is specifically asking the community because he doesn't want to force a single solution.
What This Means for Players
School will become a full-fledged place for teen life. Not just a building you can enter, but a set of activities: classes, clubs, events, and prom.
Developers are listening to the community. High heels were added by request; prom was added after learning about its importance to Western players. That's a good sign.
Performance setting offers flexibility. Instead of simply cutting graphics, Kjun offers a choice. Both high‑end and low‑end PC owners will appreciate this.
May release, feedback being accepted now. Players can influence the final version — by suggesting additional activities, fixes, or clarifications about school life.
What Players Are Hoping For
Comments on the video and post are already discussing:
- The ability to affect grades by doing homework
- A school club system (sports, music, art) with competitions
- Relationships between students (friendship, bullying, first love)
- School events beyond prom (first day, sports competitions)
Some players are writing lengthy posts with detailed explanations of their wishes, attaching reference images and videos. The developers have promised to take these wishes into account, so now is the best time to speak up.
We'll be waiting for the update to release, and in the meantime, we invite you to revisit the InZOI 2026 roadmap, where the developers shared their ambitious plans for the future.
