Every Occult Challenge

The Every Occult Challenge, created by James Turner, is a unique and structured challenge where your goal is to build a household of eight Sims – one of each occult type plus one regular Sim – while also attracting a variety of special NPCs to your lot. It's a perfect blend of exploration, skill-building, and supernatural storytelling that will push you to engage with every occult system The Sims 4 has to offer.

Challenge Goals

By the end of the challenge, this is what you're attempting to achieve:

• Have a household of 8 Sims with each different occult and one regular Sim;
• Be visited by various NPCs, two at a time;
• Your regular Sim needs to transform into two temporary life states.

Basic Rules

• No cheats besides ones to fix bugs;
• Your original starting Sim must remain as a regular Sim beside the temporary lifestates;
• You can complete tasks in any order;
• Occults you add can help you out, and you can play as them if you like.

Starting the Challenge

Start with one regular Sim and the regular starting funds. You can use any traits or aspirations to help you out. You can use your starter money however you like – build a house, furnish it, get things you need, etc.

How to Add Occults to Your Household

To be able to add the other occults to your household, you need to complete specific tasks to "unlock" the ability to add each occult type. These tasks are listed below and on the graphic attached at the bottom.

For example, to add a Vampire, you must first befriend Vlad and also get to the max level of the Vampire Lore Skill. Once you have done that, you can add a Vampire through regular gameplay means such as marriage, befriending and asking to move in, etc.

You can add occults in any order you like, and use any occults already added to your household to aid in any other tasks.

The Tasks to Unlock Occults

• Start with a regular Sim
• To unlock an Alien, you need to get to Sixam, give birth to an alien child, or successfully call aliens using the satellite from the Scientist career.
• To unlock a Ghost, you simply need to kill a Sim – any method will do.
• To unlock a Vampire, you must max out the Vampire Lore skill and befriend Vlad.
• To unlock a Spellcaster, you need to gather the ingredients for the immortality potion: Mandrake, Sage, Morcubus, and a Diamond.
• To unlock a Servo, you must build your own Servo bot.
• To unlock a Mermaid, you need to collect Kelp from the cave in Sulani, get the first popup for cleaning up the island, and catch one invasive fish.
• To unlock a Werewolf, you must befriend Greg and also befriend both werewolf packs.

How to Be Visited by NPCs

To be able to check off an NPC visiting you, two of them have to be on your lot at a time.

For example, if you have the Flower Bunny on your lot but no other NPCs from the list, then that will not count. You need to have the Flower Bunny and one of the other 8 NPCs on the lot at the same time – then you can check off both.

How to Complete Temporary States

The two temporary states – Skeleton and PlantSim – are forms your regular Sim can take by completing certain actions. For these, you will use your original non-occult Sim. Simply transform to these states at any time to complete them.

To become a PlantSim: You will need to reach level 10 of the Gardening skill. Then you are able to purchase rare seed packets in Build Mode. These will contain a random chance of getting each of the 6 magical beans you need. Once you have all 6 beans, you can place them in the Magic PlantSim Stump from Build Mode and water it. Eating the resulting fruit from this will turn you into a PlantSim temporarily.

To become a Skeleton: You need to find the Balampalsoh Death Relic in Selvadorada. Excavating dig sites and looking in chests in temples will lead to chances of finding the relic needed. Relics are made of bases and tops – you'll need the Death base and the Balampalsoh top. Any level of crystal will work in this relic.
