Sims 4 Fashion Authority Mod: The Easiest Way to Change Accessories & Props

from: Cuckoo

Problem: I download poses with accessories and already imagine myself constantly jumping into CAS just to add phones, spoons, forks and then taking them off again after I’m done with screenshots. And if I suddenly realize the outfit doesn’t fit the vibe, that’s another trip through the whole CAS nightmare.

That’s why let me introduce you to a fantastic mod that solves all of this: Fashion Authority by Lot 51.

What it does: lets you create packs out of accessories (and more!) so you can attach them to your sim right in-game: no more diving into CAS every single time.

Since I want to focus on accessories, I’ll put the spotlight on those here.

Let’s get into it!

1. Click on your Sim — Fashion Authority — Settings — Enable Accessory Merge Mode

You’ll need to switch this on every time you restart the game (it resets for me, maybe not for you, but just a heads up).

2. Create a pack of the accessories you want.

3. Set your desired options. I’m picking Adult, Feminine (don’t stress about this last one too much – even if you pick “feminine” now but later want to use the accessory on a male sim, it’ll still work just fine).

4. Mark the outfit as Generic Uniform.

5. Click “Start Fresh”.

6. Yay, we’ve created our outfit card, but right now it’s empty. Let’s add our accessories with the “Modify in CAS” button.

Image

This pulls up the regular CAS with a mannequin, where we’ll be adding our accessories. I know I’ve got a few different phones and they’re all in different categories.

7. First, I head to “Rings”, pick the first phone for the first outfit, and make sure to remember it was under rings.

8. Now I add a second outfit with the “+” button. I go into “Bracelets”, pick the next phone, and note that one was in Bracelets.

You can add up to five outfits like this. So if I had five phones, each one would be saved in its own category.

9. Hit the checkmark and exit CAS.

10. Open up Fashion Authority on the sim again, but this time choose “Manage All Threads”.

You’ll see a list of all your accessory packs: the last unnamed one is our guy.

11. Click on the outfit card, scroll down, and hit “Outfit Merging Rules”.

12. Remember how we noted which categories our phones were in? Here, only keep green the categories that actually had our accessories. For me, that’s bracelets and rings. After you’ve checked those, hit the checkmark.

Image

13. Click “Change into Outfit”. And there you go: our two phones show up on two different cards.

14. Pick one of the phones. The phone will snap right onto your sim’s hand.

I realized this outfit isn’t working for me and I want to change it. There are two ways to go about it:

In-game

I just click “Change Outfit”, and my sim swaps clothes. The phone disappears – that’s totally normal.

Image

Then I go back: Fashion Authority — Manage All Trends — Pick my category — Click on the phone

With the Command Center

If the sim is already posed and you don’t want to break that pose, MCCC is a lifesaver here.

Just click on the sim — Command Center — MC Dresser — Change Outfit

Yup, the phone will get removed. So just do the standard routine of adding the accessory back on with Fashion Authority.

So, to get rid of the accessory after an epic screenshot session, all you have to do is just change your sim’s outfit. You can even switch right back to the same one.

Done, you’re awesome!

A little side note

You can rename and add icons to your accessory cards. Honestly, you should: otherwise you’ll just get lost in a sea of nameless packs. Just hit “Manage All Threads”, click on the card, and update whatever you need.

I hope this guide was helpful! I’m no expert, but this is how I make life easier for myself. If you have any tips or feedback, let me know.

Love ya ♥
