How to Install WickedWhims in Sims 4: Step-by-Step Guide
WickedWhims is one of the most well-known mods for The Sims 4 that adds a ton of realistic elements from real life into the game. The mod significantly expands the relationship system between characters, adding intimacy, menstrual cycles, contraception, a more detailed pregnancy system, and much more.

Additionally, WickedWhims makes Sims' behavior more natural thanks to extended settings: characters can autonomously flirt, show jealousy, and there's a more advanced attraction system.
Keep in mind that the mod contains content for mature audiences (18+) and is not intended for underage players.
WickedWhims conflicts with the WonderfulWhims mod: they cannot be installed simultaneously. Both mods add similar functionality, so you need to choose only one of them.
How to Install WickedWhims
Step 1. Download the mod archive from the official website.
1. On the download page, you'll see two links – you can choose either one. We'll show the download process using the first link, itch.io, as an example.

Important! To the left of the download links, you'll see the mod version and which game version it's compatible with. The mod version must match your game version, otherwise it won't work properly and may cause lag in the game itself. If needed, update your game to the latest version.
2. Next, the mod author's website will open – click Download.

3. You'll be redirected to choose a file for download.

The first option is the newest version of the mod.
The second option is the previous outdated version.
If you have an older version of the game and for some reason don't want to update it, download the earlier version of WickedWhims.
In all other cases, download the latest version.
Step 2. Extract the archive
Inside the folder, you'll see several files and a folder that actually contains the mod itself.

Step 3. Copy this folder and place it in the Mods folder
Find the Mods folder by following this path:
Documents — Electronic Arts — The Sims 4 — Mods

If there's no Mods folder, create it manually.
It's important that the WickedWhimsMod folder from the downloaded archive is placed directly in the Mods folder – don't place it any deeper. Also, don't rename it.
Step 4. Launch The Sims 4
Step 5. Enable mods in the settings:
1. Open Sims 4 and enter Game Options.
2. Go to the Other tab.
3. Select "Enable Custom Content and Mods" and "Script Mods Allowed".
4. Click Apply Changes.

Step 6. Restart the game – the mod will appear in The Sims 4!
Helpful tip: Never save the game in Manage Worlds mode or during active WickedWhims animations – this can lead to corrupted textures and save file issues. Always wait for all actions to finish and only save while playing an active household.
Where to Find a Translation of the Mod in Your Language
The base version of the mod is in English. To find mod translations, you need to go back to the mod download page and scroll all the way to the bottom. There you'll see a list of languages the mod has been translated into. Click on the icon and go to the translation download page.

How to Install a WickedWhims Translation
Download the translation and do the same thing with it as you did with the mod itself: if it's in an archive, extract it and place the .package file in the Mods folder (you can place it in the WickedWhimsMod folder that you copied when adding the mod).
Where to Find Animations for the WickedWhims Mod
Animations can be found on the same page where you download the mod. Scroll down a bit and you'll see a list of creators whose animations you can download. Click on the icon under the creator's name and you'll go to the download page.

How to Update the WickedWhims Mod
The mod has a huge number of settings – you can even create multiple profiles with different settings for different game saves. It's important to update the mod correctly so you don't have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
After downloading the new version of the mod, delete the old files from the WickedWhimsMod folder and place the new files in it.

If an updated translation in your language hasn't been released yet, you can keep the translation file for now (most likely, it will more or less work with the new version of the mod). When a new translation comes out, replace that as well.
Important! All WickedWhims mod settings are stored not in the Mods folder, but in the Saves folder. An additional WickedWhimsMod folder is created in it. You MUST NOT make any changes to it, delete it, rename it, or move anything in it.
