Storylines for your Sims game (part 4)
It’s been a while since we shared ideas about the unusual fates our sims might experience. If you missed the previous parts with gameplay plots, you can find them here: one, two, three. Let’s explore what twists might await your save file!
Love and hate on ice
Can love be born from hatred? For the protagonists of the following plot, this question is rhetorical. Our sims are highly promising figure skaters. Growing up in the same city, they attended different figure skating schools. As is often the case in sports, these rival schools didn't get along very well. Naturally, the children absorbed this spirit of competition and dislike for their rivals. From the age of five, our heroes knew that they were enemies, competing for the same medals and, most importantly, the same spots on the national team and at world championships.
Years passed, and they both grew up to become the best in their city, alternating wins in pairs figure skating competitions with their respective partners. In a few months, they face their biggest competition – the qualification for the World Championship. Only one pair can represent their city, and of course, neither intends to give up.
Then the most interesting part begins. One weekend the athletes travel to another city for a training camp. The students from both schools are traveling together, quietly harboring their mutual hatred. Unsurprisingly, they end up staying at the same hotel. After the training camp, our heroes embark on a complicated yet utterly incredible romance (by the way, how their relationship unfolds is something we invite you to imagine yourselves).
Their feelings intensify rapidly, they can’t live without each other. But the qualification for the World Championship is just around the corner, and there’s only one spot available. At this moment, one of the pairs is offered the opportunity to move to another city to qualify for the championship from there. This solves all of their professional problems, but it could also destroy their relationship. Maintaining a long-distance relationship with such demanding training and competition schedules is nearly impossible. They can’t give up on their dreams of competing in the World Championship. They can’t stand in a pair together and jeopardize their partners’ chances. What should they do about all these “can’ts”?
Parents and children – couples
Not every teenager can calmly accept their mother’s new relationship after their parents' divorce. But what if your mother’s new partner is the father of your girlfriend?
Let’s delve into the details. Your sim is a teenager. A few years ago, his parents divorced in a scandal, and now he lives alone with his mother. They were close during his childhood, but the painful separation has undermined the trust in their family, and on top of that, he is going through adolescence. The situation at home is, to say the least, complicated. They try to avoid each other as much as possible, rushing off to do their own things. Our hero feels lonely and doesn’t believe that relationships can be repaired.
During this challenging time, he meets the perfect girl and falls in love. She reciprocates his feelings. Their relationship breathes new life into him, and he decides to attempt to mend things with his mother. They agree to have a family dinner where he will introduce his girlfriend to his mom. However, when they meet, it turns out that the hero’s mother knows his girlfriend quite well, as she has been in a relationship with the girl's father for several months.
As you can imagine, the effort to mend their relationship doesn’t go as planned. So what happens next? How will you choose to conclude this story?
Settling sims with conflicting traits
How do your sims prefer to live? In perfect cleanliness or in a “creative” mess? In silence or with music blasting? Do they go to bed by 10 PM or, like true night owls, stay up until morning? With Sims, it’s not difficult to collect a bunch of opposing personality traits.
We suggest creating two sims who are completely different in character and lifestyle and moving them in together, preferably in a small apartment or even a single room. As an option, they could become roommates in a dorm during their studies: homework can annoy anyone, even in the most ideal surroundings...
Bad boy, good girl
A classic storyline familiar to everyone, and let’s be honest, it’s become quite tiresome. However, we suggest looking at it from a different perspective. Our bad boy will not just be a school-skipping loner in an unpressed uniform; he will be a genuinely terrible person. The age of the couple doesn’t really matter, they can be teenagers or adults. The key is to make the girl an exceptionally positive character who cares about others, loves animals and enjoys helping people.
They meet by chance at a festival in the city park and engage in a charming conversation. He wins her over with his sense of humor, knowledge, and interesting thoughts. She believes she has found the perfect person. Their relationship develops rapidly and beautifully – until she is confronted with the darker side of his life...
One day, the girl accidentally witnesses her boyfriend violently attacking a stranger and threatening him with a gun. In that moment, he appears to her as a monster, and she makes a firm decision to confront him and break up. However, when they meet, her feelings prevent her from ending the relationship. She decides to take a break and think about what to do next. But as time passes, her love only grows stronger, and, most importantly, she learns more about his brutality and criminal activities.
Ballet star
After discussing a love for people, let’s dive into a love for work, specifically, a calling. Ballet is not only incredibly beautiful, it also requires years of hard work and dedication. Our heroine has known this since childhood. At just five years old, her parents enrolled her in a ballet school. It turned out that she had remarkable talent; she excelled at everything and, most importantly, she loved it.
Thus, twenty years passed in challenging yet beloved training. Her ballet career was shaping up to be extraordinary, she was one of the best ballerinas in her city. Soon, she was set to audition for the lead role in a legendary performance. While she was incredibly nervous, she felt confident in her preparation. Unfortunately, fate had other plans. During the audition, she landed awkwardly and suffered a severe injury.
After undergoing surgery, she spent weeks grappling with the question of whether she could continue dancing. Her dreams seemed shattered: her body could no longer withstand the demands of professional ballet, and she had to say goodbye to performing on stage.
Now, she must adapt to a new life where everything she once excelled at is no longer useful. To make ends meet, our heroine takes a job teaching at her old ballet studio. Will she be able to help others become ballet stars while struggling with her own depression? That’s for you to decide. Perhaps she will even get a chance to return to the stage…
