How to save the memory of all generations of The Sims family

from: TheSimsTree

Hello to all Sims fans around the world! My name is Nastya, and I want to share with you some ideas, tips or just inspiration on how to preserve memorable moments of your sims families. So welcome to the clutterbugs' article in Sims (and beyond)!

From generation to generation your sims come and go, each with their own problems, relationships, hobbies, jobs, adventures and stories. Without notes (a channel with a family history/tree/screenshot saves), it's impossible to remember all your characters. Here, the legacy house with a memory room (with all sorts of clutter) and, as sad as it may sound, the family graveyard will come to the rescue.

I'll show you what I mean using my Lancaster dynasty as an example. So far, it only spans three generations (with the fourth on the way), and from the very beginning, I decided to collect various trinkets used by each heir throughout the game.

For example, in the first generation, my sims were into videography and music, so I saved a drone for filming and a guitar. When the couple got married, I kept a cake topper and the marriage certificate as mementos. And when the founder's husband started working in robotics, I kept a small robot toy. And so on, throughout their lives. You can save anything that appeals to your (or your sims') soul: from the first ultrasound to a flower from the funeral ceremony. Anything that doesn't fit on shelves or can't be placed there can be stored in boxes from the "Eco Lifestyle" pack. Just don't store photos there, as they may turn black, and you won't be able to restore them!

In my dynasty house, I've decorated a room in the basement where I placed shelves for the belongings of each generation, and I carefully collect (all sorts of junk) all the items that remind me of different moments from the lives of my characters.

Well, everyone already knows about in-game photos with the camera, but I still can't help but emphasize it. They create a cozy and familial atmosphere in the house, bringing your characters to life. And you'll enjoy reminiscing about past generations, seeing them somewhere on the walls, shelves, and bulletin boards.

+1 idea for the collection – letters. I really love leaving various inscriptions! And if you're also a fan of this, then let me show you where you can use it as part of decorating your rooms and immortalizing the name of your dynasty (somewhere on fences, like I did). You can find various types of letters online to suit your taste. Feel free to sign away.

Now let's talk a little bit about the sad part... The family graveyard. An important place for preserving the memory of your sims. Each tombstone can be decorated in the style of the deceased character. Everyone knows you can add a photo to the headstone, but have you tried labeling who it belongs to? Give it a try! You can also place items that belonged to the sim on the grave. And voila, looking at the tombstone of your dear dynasty member, you'll remember how they lived their long (or not so long) life. Can you guess from the photo what my secondary character was up to?

And finally, since we previously talked about the dynasty house, I want to share one more idea for it. A room with awards and collections. I'm sure that throughout the game you've collected or purchased various collectible items, whether it's snow globes, precious gems or postcards from different cities. But what about the awards and statues of your sims? Where do you store all that? Certainly not in boxes! Put everything on beautiful display shelves, and there you go – now you have your own personal family museum!
