Here's a collection of the most stunning animations and mods.
1. Eating at the table animation override
This mod replaces the default eating animations when sims dine at a dining or desk table. It comes with two animation styles based on the sim's gender. It doesn't swap out every single eating animation in the game – just the core ones you'll see most often.
2. Relaxed tv watching animations override
This mod replaces the default TV-watching animations with more laid-back, natural-looking ones. The animations differ between male and female sims.
3. Painting animation override (+ mini easels, canvas override)
Each of the three mini-mods can be downloaded separately.
The mod comes in two versions:
1) Gender-split version
The animation style is based on the sim's gender.
2) Gender-neutral version
Here, female sims use the male painting animation. According to the creator, it looks more neutral and works especially well for young adults and adults.
At the start of the painting interaction, a barstool automatically appears next to the easel. The new animation only applies under the following conditions:
— The sim is painting on a small or medium canvas *(large paintings use the default animation)*
— The sim is a teen, young adult, or adult *(elders use the default animation)*
4. Nap on the table
The creator took the game's existing sleep animations and reworked them so sims can doze off with their head resting on a table.
The interaction is available for all age groups from children to elders. Sims can nap at both desks and dining tables, though only one sim can snooze at a table at a time.
5. Phone call animations override
This mod replaces the default phone call animations and introduces 4 new poses, with separate variations for male and female sims.
Your sim will take calls in a fresh pose while seated at a table, and there's a dedicated animation for sofas and armchairs. On all other surfaces, the default phone animations remain unchanged.
All animation transitions are smooth. You may occasionally notice a bit of clipping or body/object overlap at the start or end, but it doesn't affect gameplay.
6. Computer animation override
The difference from the base game pose isn't dramatic, but to me, sims just look more realistic and relaxed with this override.
It applies to all computer interactions. Works for teens through elders.
7. Cuddle while watching tv
This mod adds a new romantic "Cuddle While Watching TV" interaction, available when two sims are sitting next to each other on the couch.
By default, the animation is gender-based:
— If the initiator is a female sim, she'll be the one being cuddled;
— If the initiator is a male sim, he'll be the one doing the cuddling.
8. Functional stroller for infants
You can finally take your infants out for a walk while they snooze in the stroller. The animation is absolutely top-notch — smooth, beautiful, and impressively functional. As the creator puts it, the stroller works roughly like a combination of a play mat and a bicycle.
It comes in 6 colors and can be stored in the sim's inventory. The design is inspired by the Anex Flo.
While out on a walk, the sim gets:
- a moodlet for the duration of the stroll
- a small boost to the Social and Fun needs
- a small boost to the Parenting skill
Meanwhile, the infant in the stroller can either sleep or look around and take in the sights.

Simkatu also teamed up with Syboulette, so the mod is compatible with Syboulette's strollers too!
9. Hang out and chat on the bed
Oh, I absolutely love this mod! It's a goldmine for atmospheric screenshots, the sims get all sorts of interesting moodlets, and when the game actually guesses what I wanted them to talk about – it's pure joy.
This mod adds a new interaction for double beds, available only to sims who are already friends. It works for teens through elders.
Your sim can learn all kinds of things about another sim, like:
- a personality trait
- their career
- whether they're in a relationship
- their romantic preferences
- and much more
The mod also adds 100+ new notifications about a sim's career, finances, and personal life – all styled to match the game's default notifications and generated based on that specific sim's real data.
10. Intimate lap kiss
This mod adds a new romantic "Intimate Lap Kiss" interaction. It's been a total game-changer for filming love stories and acting out date scenes!
The interaction is available when sims are seated next to each other on:
- sofas
- benches
- ottomans
- double and single beds
- the edge of a pool
You can find it under Romance → Physical Intimacy. There's also a chance of getting a fun romantic moodlet.

- a "Cry" interaction to the sim's main menu and the shower menu *(with its own animation)*
- reactions from nearby sims who witness the crying
- special comforting interactions available after a cry
The sim and their close ones will receive relevant moodlets that fit the moment.
12. Read in bed
I'm a total bookworm in real life – reading in bed is my thing. So the moment I saw this mod from Simkatu, I was sold. Sims can read both under the covers or on top of them.
Click on the bed to trigger the new interaction, which lets your sim pick a book from their inventory and read it right there. Children can even read in a single bed! Double beds support everyone from teens to elders.
Here's what reading in bed does:
- boosts the Fun need
- books level up the corresponding skill – and you can read any difficulty level in bed, it'll still count toward progress
- if the sim has a wish or goal to "Read a Book," it counts
- children gain the Creativity skill from reading fiction
- reading skill books helps children level up their mental abilities
- a special moodlet appears while reading
- sims enrolled in university can read their textbooks in bed – afterward, a notification will pop up confirming their academic performance has improved
