InZOI March 2026 Update: Car Theft, Tricycles, Movie Theaters, and Quality of Life Improvements
The InZOI developers continue to delight the community with weekly reports. On March 13, 2026, the game's producer and director, Kjun, presented another weekly development diary, revealing new details about the upcoming major update scheduled for March 26. This time, the team focused on expanding the crime system, improving quality of life, and adding new family activities.
When Can We Expect the Update?
As a reminder, the next major InZOI update will be released on March 26, 2026. It will include many features that developers have been discussing over the previous weeks: a mini-map, multitasking (eating while walking), a memory system, birthdays, a news feed, and much more. The March patch will serve as a sort of gift for the first anniversary of the game's early access.
Crime System Expansion: Car Theft Now Possible
One of the most unexpected features is the expansion of the crime system. Zois can now steal any car and drive it around the city.
However, this is a risky activity: if a Zoi gets caught, they can be arrested. To make it easier for players to navigate, the developers have added red dots to the map indicating the location of every vehicle in the city.
Family Content: Tricycles, Feeding, and Sleeping on the Floor
The developers haven't forgotten about the youngest residents either. The update will introduce a children's tricycle that can be ridden around the yard or even taken on adventures throughout the city.
Additionally, the team has added new animations and interactions:
Sleeping on Japanese-style floor beds — both single and double.
Eating at low tables (such as coffee tables), which creates a cozier atmosphere.
Tea drinking — another small but cozy touch.
Business and Career: Tips, Job Interviews, and Overtime Work
Small business owners will get a new tool for earning money — a tip jar. Now, satisfied customers can leave tips based on their satisfaction with the service. The owner gets to decide whether to keep all the money for themselves or share it with their employees.
For those looking for work, a new social event has been added — the job interview. The goal of this event is to prove to the potential employer that your Zoi is the perfect candidate for the position.
And for those who are already employed, there's now an option to work overtime from home without a fixed end time.
As a reminder, new careers were also announced earlier, including a courier (freelance delivery) and the development of the florist profession, with the ability to grow flowers and gift bouquets.
Entertainment and Leisure: Movie Theaters and Popcorn
The cities in InZOI will become even more lively thanks to updated movie theaters. The developers have created a functional movie screen that will allow Zois to enjoy watching films.
A popcorn machine will also be added next to the screen, creating the full atmosphere of a real movie theater.
Quality of Life Improvements
The team has also paid attention to player feedback and refined several systems:
Farming. Many players complained that watering each individual plot of land was tedious. The developers are working on a feature that will allow a Zoi to water multiple garden plots with a single action. However, they clarify that they haven't quite managed to make it happen with just one click yet, and are asking players to share their thoughts on how much they actually want this feature.
Notifications. The event system will receive a new experience log, where both significant and everyday events from the character's life will be recorded.
Mods. An important improvement for modders and users: new mods can now be activated without restarting the game.
Graphics. Work on optimization continues: the appearance of objects on low graphics settings has been improved, and they are also fixing issues with lighting (yellowing of color tones) on high presets.
What Won't Be Included in the March Update?
In his address, Kjun also mentioned some delays. The engine update to Unreal Engine 5.6, which was originally planned for the March patch, had to be postponed due to the need for additional stabilization. It will now be released in April.
Additionally, the user interface (UI) improvements won't make it in time for March. The developers are preparing them for a May release, promising to present them in an improved form.
"It's a bit disappointing. There are still some stabilization tasks remaining, which is why we couldn't move forward with the update sooner," Kjun commented on the engine delay.
What to Expect on March 26?
Despite the postponements, the March update promises to be substantial. It will include: street parking lots, a mini-map, multitasking, baby-related interactions and outfits, memories, birthdays, a news feed, and all the features described above. InZOI continues to actively develop while listening to the community, and March 26 will be an important milestone on this journey.
